For Alexander Wang's Winter Collection, I had the exciting opportunity to replicate in 3D a truly unique and innovative bag. The piece featured the iconic Wang logo, but with a twist - it was designed to transform into a miniature jeep car. The bag was made of high-quality materials and featured intricate detailing that made it a fashion statement in its own right. But when it was time to hit the road, the bag could be easily transformed into a miniature jeep car complete with wheels and a steering wheel. It was a true design masterpiece that seamlessly blended form and function. The collection was a huge hit among fashion enthusiasts and the bag was particularly sought after for its one-of-a-kind design. It was a pleasure to be a part of such a fantastic project and to see my creation come to life on the runway.
Creating the "beg to jeep" transformation effect in Houdini was an engaging and challenging process. The first step was to take detailed reference images of the bag, which I then used to create an exact replica in Zbrush. Once the bag model was complete, I moved on to creating a snowy and rocky mountain environment using assets from Megascans.
The key to making the transformation look flawless was ensuring that the transition between the bag and the jeep was seamless. I also had to rig the car and animate it crumbling down the road to add a sense of motion and realism to the final result.
